Before the gods, relics, and impossible stars, there was one bad job at Latchkey Port. Captain Nell Brant only needs fuel, cheap repairs, and enough credit to keep the battered LSV Harroway out of creditor hands for another month. When a sealed racing pod needs discreet transport through a half-legal frontier port during the biggest illegal ship-run of the season, the job looks beneath her crew: quick money, low risk, no questions worth asking. Then the pod opens, and Harrow finds itself carrying a stolen route-core wanted by racers, gamblers, port officials, debt agents, and everyone with money riding on the night’s final run. Now the port has a clean plan to trap them: clamp Harrow at dock, predict every escape vector, bribe the pilot, expose the illegal AI, and bury Nell in debt law before she can lift ship. It should work. It does not, because Harrow’s crew is broke, stubborn, reckless, legally inconvenient, and very bad at behaving like sensible criminals. With heat sinks rising, clamps tightening, and the race lanes turning lethal, one damaged ship has to survive a night it was never meant to win.
